Members of Nevada Sisters on the Fly, a women’s outdoor adventure group, join forces with the Art Barn in collaboration with the US Forest Service to create ornaments for the 2025 Capitol Christmas Tree. This years’ tree, also known as “The People’s Tree” will be coming from a Nevada forest this year for the very first time.
“As a group of women, we challenge ourselves in all that we set our minds to”, reads the mission statement for Sisters on the Fly. Women who share a common curiosity and love for the public lands of Nevada, came together to celebrate all that is good, wild and wonderful about our home state.
On this hot Saturday afternoon in Southern Nevada, this lively, creative group of women came together to create 16 unique ornaments destined for the Capitol this holiday season. We could not be more proud of all our makers, our amazing friend and chief ornament wrangler from the USFS, Natalie Shannon, and all who represent what we love about our Wild Nevada!
