An invitation to go outside and play!

“Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.”- Theodore Roosevelt

Howdy! and welcome to the Art Barn! I’m Sage- they call me The Happy Burro. I am your Nature Journal Adventure Guide.

I love to go outside, saunter along the dirt path, and play in my nature journal. Now, I am inviting a few friends who are ready to Explore nature in our own, Las Vegas, NV backyard. Along the way, we will Discover things about nature and ourselves and Make memories in our nature journals!

I’ve been in the barn all winter, getting ready to head for new trails this season and YOU are invited to COME ALONG!

You don’t need to pack anything except a few art supplies.

My favorites include:

  • a few colored pencils

  • a fine black pen

  • a pencil

  • and a notebook.

  • Most of all, bring your curiosity and wonder.

Enjoy the beauty of slowing down and being still in nature. You may discover the connection you are hoping for; a deeper understanding of yourself and newfound respect for yourself and others in the simple process of quiet observation together.

When I am out under the big blue sky exploring the magic of all that is vibrant and alive and working all around us all the time, I can’t help but be happy! Nature journaling does not mean you have to have any special skills. Anyone can do it! Just grab your supplies and start where you’re at, the Art Barn Way!

When you wonder with your Nature Journal, you’ll discover invitations along the way—like this one, found at the Hassayampa River Preserve outside Wickenburg, AZ.

So, join me, Sage and discover your happy!

Please fill out the form below to let us know you’re interested in accepting my invitation. There is no cost to participate. Details, such as location and date to come. Thanks for your interest!

Enjoy the peace-filled gifts of quiet observation and wonder by starting where you are with what you have.
